One of the hottest days of the year. But Northampton Sings! had a 3 hour gig to perform and we were not going to let the weather put us off! It was an epic performance - the choir did so well remembering all 30 songs.

This weekend, we had the pleasure of joining Inspire Choir for a joint performance at Elliott's Rectory Farm - we had an amazing sunny afternoon and both choirs sang their hearts out. We raised a total of £263 to be shared between our two nominated chairites.
After a 15 month break, Northampton Sings was finally able to get together and sing. We loved being able to sing outdoors and the weather was kind to us on all three weeks. We are hopeful that when the Autumn term starts we will be able to go back to choir inside. Thank you to everyone who joined us on the dates. After 14 months of being apart, we are delighted to tell you that we are making our first steps on returning to singing together as a group.
We are taking a cautious approach and opting to restart outdoors in Abington Park. The dates we will be meeting from 7-8pm are: Sunday 13th, 20th and 27th June. These three sessions will be free. if you would be interested in joining us, please get in touch via email - [email protected] Can't wait to see you again soon! The Northampton Sings team After a lovely long summer off we are back in full swing and learning a brand new set list. We have a lovely mix of different music, all which are well known and very catchy! We are already throwing in some Christmas music (in October!!) to ensure we are well rehearsed for our Christmas performances at Rushden Lakes on Saturday 7th December, at 1pm and 3pm. Come along and join in! We will be taking donations for Breast Cancer Care during these performances.
Last month we performed at the Northampton Music Festival. It was a fantastic performance that managed to draw in a crowd and have everyone joining in and singing along (even in the rain!), especially with our finale of Hey Jude. We had some lovely feedback and hopefully a few new members in the audience too! We are now off for a well earned summer break until Sunday 15th September when we will be back to start a new term. This is a really great time for new members to join as we begin to learn new songs from scratch. We had 2 fantastic performances before Easter. The Big Sing! in London and then performing outside "the good loaf" for their opening weekend. We had some lovely feedback and everyone enjoyed getting to show off our fabulous songs.
After a lovely Easter break we are back and learning our new set list. Some we have brought over from last term and will continue to perfect, some we are learning from scratch. We are all working hard to learn all the harmonies and words ready for our next performance at the Northampton Music Festival (June 16th at 5:15pm on the choral stage in front of All Saints church in Northampton town centre). If you are interested in coming along and joining us, come along to a Sunday rehearsal from 7-8:30pm. We have now got around to learning all the songs on this terms set list. They are all sounding fantastic with lots of amazing harmonies from all 3 sections.
We have the Big Sing! coming up on the 23rd March in London. We have now also been asked to perform on the 30th March at 11am in Northampton for the Good Loaf who are opening a new cafe at the All Saints Church. We have around 30 minutes to perform so at last night's rehearsal we ran through all our songs ready to put together a set list. We will all be ready for our well earned break for Easter at the end of March! |
